Undergraduate College Programming

Throughout the year, the Undergraduate Colleges collaborate on a number of programs hosted across the colleges. Some traditional events are listed below.

UnOlympics

The annual UnOlympics competition is one of the longest running traditions at UC San Diego. UnOlympics is a fun competition where all six UC San Diego colleges compete for the coveted Golden Shoe trophy. At UnOlympics, students representing their Undergraduate College compete to earn points in a series of field games - which consist of a crazy bat spin competition, an obstacle course, and a balloon relay - and a Welcome Week themed dance routine.

Target Back to College Night

Forgot something at home, or just love shopping at Target? The Colleges host this annual shopping trip and UC San Diego takes over a local Target for an exciting night of shopping, music, and free giveaways.

College Bowl

College Bowl is  UC San Diego’s intercollegiate quiz bowl competition, where teams of students participate in head-to-head trivia matches. College Bowl will start at each of the individual college. The winning team from each college will, then, represent  Each their home college in the College Bowl Finals in hopes of bringing the Golden Brain trophy back to their College! This event is brought to you in collaboration with UC San Diego Recreation.

  • Marshall College - February 6, 5:00 -7:00 pm, Angela’s Space
  • Warren College - February 4, 5:30 -7:30 pm, Student Activity Center
  • Eleanor Roosevelt College - February 7, 7:00 -9:00 pm, Middle Earth Lounge
  • Sixth College - February 12, 5:00 -7:00 pm, Sixth College Lodge

Spirit Night

Spirit Night is a friendly competition among the Undergraduate Colleges centered around a UC San Diego women's and men's basketball doubleheader early in Winter Quarter.  The Colleges and Athletics team up to create a series of competitions in which the Colleges compete and receive points according to their performance.  The College with the most overall points will win the Spirit Night Trophy, known as the Cup of Cheer, which is presented following the men’s basketball game and resides in the winning College for the year. The focus of Spirit Night is on bringing all of the colleges together as Tritons.


The 2019 Spirit Night will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019, when UC San Diego takes on Stanislaus State.

2018-2019 Programs

In addition to these signature events, the Council of Coordinators of Student Activities will also host events throughout the year for students in all the colleges. Check back here regularly for information on those events!

  • Movie Night: RBG - November 13, 2018
    Learn about the Supreme Court and the life of Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Enjoy great company, food, and raffle prizes.
  • World AIDS Day Tabling - November 26, 2018 - December 1, 2018
    Leading up to the campus-wide programs on November 30 and December 1st, each college will be hosting a tabling event with an interactive activity so each college can show its support for this important day. Please contact your college’s Student Affairs office for more information on when the tabling event will take place in your college.
