About the Colleges

Every undergraduate belongs to one of the seven colleges and is afforded the benefits of a small, liberal arts college while enjoying the resources of a large, research university.

Each college makes up the university as a whole. This site houses programs that operate across all colleges and provides students with information and resources helpful to any member of the university community. Our key initiatives are:

First Year Experience:

The First Year Experience program is designed to help new students maximize their educational experience at UC San Diego through a course offered in Fall and a series of programs and events.
