The Undergraduate Colleges aim to provide a supportive community for our first-generation students from the time that you transition into college through the turning of your tassel at commencement. Our goal is to empower first-generation students to successfully navigate the college experience through supportive programs, access to a community of first-generation students, staff, and faculty, and leadership opportunities.
Just like the Colleges, every First-Gen student is unique - this is why we provide both College-wide and College-specific programming, opportunities, organizations, and leadership opportunities.
The Undergraduate Colleges frequently collaborate with other departments at UC San Diego to bring you programs, resources, and connections. Check out some of our MVPs - Most Valuable (Campus) Partners!

Tri-Alpha, also known as Alpha Alpha Alpha, is a national honor society for first-generation scholars. UC San Diego is the first UC to be chartered for Tri-Alpha, and is known as the Beta Kappa Chapter. This honor society is a way to celebrate the academic achievements of our first-generation students and is open to undergraduate, graduate, professional, medical, and pharmacy students. Faculty and staff may also be inducted. We hope that you will join! To learn more about the Tri-Alpha Honors society, visit their official website.
